I just noticed that it will be 6 years this week since I started blogging on Blogger. Wow.

Blogger Followers

I added the Google Followers to my blog. Not sure that I'll end up with anyone in it. I would have been more likely to put this on my JC Sports site, but as it is experimental it is only available on some blogs, and the JC Sports site doesn't have the option to add it as this one does. Not sure if I'll keep it, but hey if you would like to be the first on the followers list, you can be. So how long before one starts getting follower spam?

Blogger Error Part II

In my previous post I blamed my inability to get to blogspot sites on Blogger. After looking at the latest e-mail I received from Sitemeter, it looks as though they might have been the culprit. I do believe the different blogspot sites that I was trying to reach all utilize Sitemeter.

Blogger Error (blogspot sites)

It would appear that Blogger may have made some changes as Internet Explorer 7 is all of the sudden having issues with every blogspot address I go to today. It is giving the following error (of course displaying the respective address you are trying to reach):



It still works fine in Firefox.

Update: I did notice this was working fine again the next day.

Photoblog

I did it. I moved my photoblog to a new site. Hey Blogger has been good to me and I am not looking to move my main blog, but my photoblog, now simply called Bonj's Photoblog is now at http://pics.aminus3.com.

That just happened to be the name I picked when I was testing it, I really wasn't thinking much about it, so that is what it is. If you put bonj's photoblog in Google it is the first hit.

You'll find the link I mention in individual's Blogger profiles. You can do the same thing with the other links in one's profile, such as Industry, Occupation, Interests, etc, just replacing the word in the link with what you are looking for.

Blogger Profiles

Blogger use to give one the ability to click on links within an individuals profile which would display a listing of related profiles. I don't know exactly when, but this feature went away. Well it is back now.

Now you can go to any Blogger profile page (start with your own, or perhaps another popular blogger’s) and follow any of the links on the page to get a list of other bloggers with the same industry, occupation, location, interest, or favorite book, movie, or music.

I guess I should update my profile, as it has been some time since I was a manager. It should say supervisor now as basically all of management was knocked down a level when we consolidated. We now have a single CIO for the consolidated IT Division and an IT Director in support of each agency.

Polls

Polls are out of draft, but evidently there is an issue with them today. I added a poll to the JC Sports site and it is still working fine, but when adding one to this blog I get the message:

Oops... Polls are currently not available, please come back later.

I simply added one to this site asking Blogger Users visiting the site if they have used the new poll feature. What one sees right now is:




The sad part is that I made a typo on the poll and I can't edit that element to correct the typo or even delete it.

Update: I started to look at the issue further and found that they are already aware of it.

We are aware of this issue and currently working on a fix. In the meantime, as a workaround, you can remove the poll's code from your Template | Edit HTML tab, which will delete the problematic poll from your blog.

Blogger - Limit on Pics

What happened to ability to endlessly post images to your blog? Now my blog pics are competing for space with my Picasa photos as the photos uploaded via Blogger end up you my Picasa Web Album and count against it's limit.

Per Blogger Help:

Images and photos that are uploaded through Blogger get stored in your Picasa Web Albums, which are part of your Google Account. The number of images you can upload is therefore dependent on the amount of space you are using on Picasa Web Albums. To find out how much space you have available, please see these instructions.

If you would like to purchase more storage space, the Picasa Web Albums help center can tell you how.

Blogger & Podcaster (B&P)

Once you setup an account you can add your blogs & podcasts to their free directory (B & P Guide). Not real sure why only three of the four I added are listed. As there aren't tons in the list, I am guessing I must be one of the early ones to get to their site and grab an online copy of Blogger & Podcaster.

Moblog

I decided not to push my Mobile Blog (moblog) here afterall. I will incorporate any moblog picture posts to my photoblog (avisuallife).

As you might have noticed, I have a camera phone again. It is a Samsung SPH-a640 that takes VGA pics, so not that great of quality, but good enough to make things out.



I didn't want to go back to a separate Moblog as I had before, so I followed the instructions to setup a moblog via Blogger, claimed it, and then set it up to post to my main blog.

Stats

I have been trying to figure out if I want to stick with SiteMeter or go with Google Analytics for stats, so what do I get today, but an invitation to join the Reinvigorate private beta.

More choices. It does not appear that I get the same results with the other two, so it will be interesting to see if this one agrees with either of them.

I guess I'll take Reinvigorate for a spin to see what it has to offer.

It is initially launching with 28 reports.

So what do you prefer for site stats?
