FireEagle
I saw something stating that fireeagle is a new service from Yahoo, but it is in alpha and closed to the general populous. Yet it didn't say what the service actually is.

Thanks, but unless I am looking at it wrong, I still don't get what fireeagle is.
just random surfing here, was looking for the same answers you were ..
FireEagle is Yahoo's Location infomration API service .... can store location information that can then be used/accessed by applications (on an allow basis) ...
so something along the lines of geotagging, geolocation, etc ..... obviously useful in a mobile-device arena etc...
just thought I'd post
