YouTube
YouTube seems to be making the news a lot lately. I will have to admit that the OK GO Band's video is entertaining.

Interviews
I have been going through resumes this weekend for a position open in my group. Always an arduous process. The state has pretty generic technology titles. The problem is that the titles don't even differentiate between development and pc/network support, so you often have a number of applications that don't meet what you are looking for. Having more specific titles would help some although development encompasses a rather broad environment itself.

Sametime Web Client

I read Alan Lepofsky's post "Sametime Chat with IBM Employees", and followed it to Christopher Pepin's post, and within that post to a previous post of his, and ultimately to the IBM Collaboration page. I clicked on signin under Instant Messaging, and signed in with my IBM ID (Not an employee, just a subscriber to Lotus products). The site uses the Sametime Connect for Browsers client. I was able to add some IBMers (Lotusers) I know of. Alan said in his post to log-on and send a hello. After adding a few with none being on, I signed on at lunch today to see if anyone was on. Ed Brill was on. I popped him up and as has always been the case with e-mail as well, quickly received a response. I added my local IBM rep, but he was not on.
It could be a handy tool at times. As much of the Instant Messaging traffic is blocked at work I had also kind of wondered what luck I would have. Not a problem.

One Man Helicopter
Interesting, but not sure that I would want to be 10,000 feet up in the air in one.
New CEO at Ford
So, do you wonder what cars former Boeing exec, named CEO of Ford, has sitting in his garage or at least what he had prior to talks about becoming CEO?
So, do you think he is related to Megan Mulally?

Crocodile Hunter
I have heard multiple reports that once Steve Irwin was stabbed by the Stingray that he just grabbed the barb and pulled it out of his chest. It may not have made a difference whatsoever as I understand the barb has poison on it, but I wonder if he would have had a chance of survival if he would not have pulled it out.
Condolences to his family and to anyone that has lost a love one, as death of a loved one is difficult no matter how famous one might be.

Sick
I was home sick yesterday. Allergies combined with a cold, headache, sore throat, clogged ear, cough, sneezing, etc.. Just down right not feeling good. I got one of my allergy medicines refilled that is an antihistamine and decongestant. The good news is that it is beginning to work and help with the drainage. It is prescribed to take twice a day. I usually skip the evening dose as it does tend to keep me awake and not sleep as well. Well as the drainage was so bad I took it last evening, hence here I am finally giving up on the tossing and turning and not sleeping and posting at 4 o'clock in the morning. I also needed to take something for the headache.

Beta Blogger
I think having the "good old feature" back is a good idea, but for those not to savvy and/or not wanting to customize much, the new Beta of Blogger is easier to work with than the old.
As I have moved to the beta version of Blogger for Jefferson City Sports, I am ready to move this site to the Beta as well. The biggest difference is working with the template as the posting and settings aren't that much difference. Hey Blogger, let me switch this account now. I know I will be able to in time, and I am sure getting all the accounts moved over is a huge effort to coordinate without even thinking about individual requests to go ahead and get moved. As I have tried it for the one account I want it even more.
