Yes, Santa made an appearance at our house this year. Just not sure where he came from. The week before Christmas we found a plastic Santa standing in the middle of our yard. Having a Junior in high school, I can only guess that it was some prank.
We could see footprints in the snow from the direction the prankster came and needless to say they did not match the plastic footprints of Santa himself. No one stepped up to take credit so we did the only thing one should do for a lost Santa. We called the Police so that they could come pick up Santa and possibly return him if someone reported a stolen Santa.
Afterwards our youngest son said that he would have liked it if they would have put him in the back seat instead of tossing him in the trunk. He said that would have been video worthy.

Go Horns
Just taking care of a few e-mails for work while watching the Texas Longhorns pulverize the Arizona State Sun Devils.
IT has taken care of routing e-mails from two main department accounts for the past 7 years and if not tomorrow then at the beginning of next week the business side is suppose to take them over. I guess we'll see how it goes.

I would say the Horns are far enough ahead that it is safe for me to go ahead and go to bed.
Good night.

Latest Winding Road
Time to check out the February issue of Winding Road. The GTR and RX-9 are hot.

A good thing and a bad thing. The good thing: Winding Road is still free to consume. The bad thing: The amount of advertising has almost gotten ridiculous. I want to read the articles, not wait for the ads to load.
I know, I know, that is what is allowing me to enjoy it for free.

Slow posting
Between cable being out during the ice storm, the home computer going belly up, cleaning up some after the ice storm and getting ready for the holidays, I haven't gotten any posting done.

Aptera
Anyway, I just saw the Aptera (Wingless Bird) and it reminded me of a small model of a prototype car they had on the antiques roadshow recently. Definitely different overall, but you can see how it took some queues from the airplane as well. Not to the degree of the Taylor Aeroplane though.

Windows Live Photo Gallery
The wlxquicktimecontrolhost.exe appears to have a problem. Doing a search doesn't return a lot. I have only seen it running when Windows Live Photo Gallery is reading a directory with photos/movies. The process eats all of your CPU. The only thing that appears to fix it is removing Windows Live Photo Gallery. Looking at the process name one would be quick to blame Apple, but not sure if that is the case.

Jefferson City Blogs
Interested in other Jefferson City bloggers. You can see those that have listed Jefferson City as their location in their Blogger profile by going here. You want to find individuals in other cities/states, just change the state and city name in the URL to search a U.S. area you are interested in.

Postarama
I guess I had a bit of Postarama today.
One kid was at work, the other with a friend, and the wife was out running around with one of her best friends.

Here I sat posting away with my Sandisk Sansa Clip listening to my Go List with the likes of Squeeze, Talking Heads, Thin Lizzy, The Steve Miller Band, Supertramp, ELO, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Counting Crows, Sweet, Breaking Benjamin, Nickelback, Lifehouse, Blind Melon, Matchbox Twenty, Stone Temple Pilots, The Wallflowers, Train, Tom Petty, John Melloncamp, and many others.

Governor Blunt's Campaign is paying me. Well, Potentially.

Since the incumbent Governor's campaign is utilizing Google's Adsense and I posted about his recent appointments, it apparently picked up that it would be a likely place for their ad to appear. As I can make money via Adsense ads on my site (very little in my case, such as today it was a penny), I could indirectly get paid for advertising for the Governor.
Hey I'll take the money and let people make up their own mind on who they want to vote for.
Although if one utilizing Adsense truly wanted to keep an ad from displaying on their site they can configure Adsense not to diplay it.
Lists
Another Microsoft tech preview item is Listas.
Create and edit lists, keep a list to yourself or share it with others and collaborate with your friends. Collect content from all over the web with the Listas Toolbar.
I'll be trying it out. Right off it sounds a bit like Microsoft's tool to compete with Google Notebook.

Organize your notes.
Keep all your notes organized by creating multiple notebooks for different subjects or by dividing a single notebook into several sections. You can also easily rearrange your notes by dragging-and-dropping them from one section or notebook to another.
Add your own thoughts.
Click the "New note" button and start typing to add text notes to your notebook, or click the "Add comment" link within a note to add comments to clippings you've collected.
Search the full text of your notebooks.
Easily find any information in your notebooks using the search box at the top of the page.
PhotoSynth
I posted about PhotoSynth back in Augusts of 2006, but now they have a technology preview (pre-beta) available. My video card is not up to snuff, but it might be interesting to take a look at if you have a system that will support it.
