Gas Prices

Of couse, I don't know all of the ins and outs about the whole industry, so I really can't make well educated comments, but they say on the news (another potentially limiting factor in one's knowledge on a subject) that gas prices are going up simply because we don't have the facilities to refine all of the oil we have. Now they say gas prices are going up because they had to shut down oil rigs do to the hurricane. Now what does it matter that you shut down the oil rigs for a few days if we already have more oil than what can be refined?

Next the oil rigs will probably need a new coat of paint and that will raise gas prices.

It would be nice if there was something that would happen that they simply couldn't make an excuse for raising prices.
